FOR EXAMPLE!
Here's a representative mix of the kinds of projects and engagements I take on in the climate, conservation, and sustainability space. If you're hunting for examples of a particular content genre that you don't see here, just ask.
CONTENT
TREES KNOXVILLE WEBSITE
(This squirrel. OMG.) I developed new content and built this responsive site in Squarespace so we could purge TK's lumbering old website. The new site is a real marketing tool that makes it possible to increase revenue and get the word out about events and programs that grow our urban forest.
MESSAGING & POSITIONING
THE THOUGHT BUREAU
I collaborated with the marketing firm The Thought Bureau to develop internal and external messaging for a nature nonprofit. The context: they were launching several new initiatives to increase their revenue and strengthen their community support, and they needed help to implement a strategic plan that required different language and ways of thinking.

Within two months of implementing the recommended changes, new memberships jumped by 30 percent.
Boom.
CONTENT & ROADMAPPING
SEVEN ISLANDS INTERPRETIVE SIGNAGE
Working with Robin Easter Design, I helped Seven Islands State Birding Park (part of the Tennessee State Parks system) plot and tell its origin story through a series of interpretive signs near the park entrance. If you don't know a grassland sparrow from a backyard finch, get thee to the park—and learn why it's so important to preserve this increasingly rare type of habitat.

ECO PULSE REPORTS
I helped my client, the sustainability-focused marketing communications firm Shelton Group, make the transition from a sales format for their proprietary research product to a lead-generating content marketing strategy. I proposed the format change because I believed it would solve some marketing challenges Shelton was facing—plus reach a much wider circle of prospective clients.

I helped design the new strategy around a recurring series of free downloadable reports, wrote all the new content, and crafted the marketing materials used to promote the series. The result was 1000+ downloads, 450+ new newsletter subscribers, high-quality leads, and the beginning of a years-long content marketing initiative that's still going strong.

DOWNTOWN KNOXVILLE ALLIANCE
I’m working with the Downtown Knoxville Alliance to plan content and activities for a new tourism initiative—all focused on a special piece of Knoxville’s ecological heritage. Stay tuned!
